The Buildings of Thomas and Lyle: Walking Tour
Sunday May 16 2010 1 pm
Join architectural historian Marta O'Brien for a downtown walking tour of buildings by William Thomas and John Lyle. Each man was a leader in his profession and each designed some of the most important and beloved buildings in Toronto. Through viewing these great works in place we can better appreciate what these architects contributed to our city. St. Lawrence Hall and the Royal Alexandra Theatre are just two of the structures we'll examine.
Architectural historian Marta O'Brien teaches architectural history courses at Ryerson University, George Brown College, and the University of Toronto. Through her company, Citywalks, Marta develops and conducts walking tours featuring distinctive neighbourhoods and districts in Toronto. Marta is a member of the Heritage Toronto Board and has been a walking tour leader with Heritage Toronto for ten years.
